The first episode of a show serves to introduce the characters and the universe, but the second episode is when the show really comes together. In order to help a veteran get the benefits he deserves, they take on a crooked congressman and a private military contractor.

This is where we get to see how the team is really going to work. Eliot instantly spots the bad guys, Hardison easily discovers the paper trail, Parker cracks a lock without breaking a sweat, Sophie gets the congressman and the CEO to turn on one another, and Nate moves all the pieces where they need to be.

In a twist, the rich guy comes to the crew for help when his wife goes missing. Since this is Leverage , it leads to a black widow con. What we love about this one is it finally shows how much Nate truly loves Sophie.

Nate tells Parker to start a fight to cause a distraction, and she takes him literally by punching another woman. Parker has been on her own her whole life, so adjusting to suddenly working in a team is a big deal for her. To teach her real-life teamwork, the gang makes her serve jury duty.

And of course, it turns out the trial is rigged, and the team needs to intervene. To stop Moreau from selling a bomb, Sophie, Parker, and Hardison chase down a train and blow up the bomb in a very dramatic, slow-motion style. Yes, there are a few jokes in the episode, but the stakes are higher, so the team takes things seriously.

Over the course of its run Leverage features some great guest stars. Eliot takes a personal interest in the threat posed to a small town by a new mega-store. The crew tries a variety to approaches to foil the plans of an ambitious corporate representative and keep the store from opening. The White Rabbit Job. A young industrialist seems bent on destroying the company his grandfather built, and the town it supports.

To find out why, the team attempts the rarely-if-ever achieved "White Rabbit" con, which puts the mark through a series of simulated dreams. The Corkscrew Job. To investigate a suspicious death at a winery, the team tries to get at the new owner through his wine collection. The Toy Job. To prevent a CEO from placing an unsafe toy on the market, the team creates a craze for a competing toy. The Long Goodbye Job.

Series finale. The team embarks on their riskiest con yet when Nate takes a case linked to his son's death. Ellen Casey questions Nate as he retells the job that supposedly got his entire team killed. The job was to steal "the Black Book," a record of all illegal transactions made by bankers and wealthy people that led to the financial crisis of — However, it is revealed that the job was successful, the team is very much alive and Sterling, who had been assigned to look into the break-in, allows Nate to walk away from possible imprisonment.
